After fire and chariots,
God walks into a kitchen.
After kings and campaigns,
God listens to a widow.
In 2 Kings 4:
A jar starts to pour.
A room is built upstairs.
A child stops breathing.
A prophet prays with his whole body.
And in the background,
hunger keeps knocking.
So bread multiplies.
Stew is healed.
Leftovers remain.
Because the living God
does not only topple thrones.
He also keeps lamps lit.
He keeps mothers from being swallowed by debt.
He keeps a table from going empty.
He keeps a promise alive
in a house that feels too small for miracles.
This is 2 Kings 4.
