Some chapters begin with comfort. This one ends with cavalry. A king sends condolences. A court suspects spies. Beards are cut like wounded pride. Robes are sliced into public shame. Two armies stand like jaws—front and back. And in the middle, one line rises like a lamp in smoke: “Be strong, and let us show ourselves courageous… and may the LORD do what seems good.” (2 Samuel 10:12)
